Just finished another set of harry potter marathon and came to conclusion that I should at least write something about my obsession here, among many others. Say, it's to honor my crazy fascination, no big deal. Also, it might help some of you to better understand what those 6 books are all about (yes Sammy, I'm talking to you).
Basically, Harry Potter books are about a talented wizard who turned his back on the good side of witchcraft and wizardry and practiced dark magic instead, where in the magic world, dark magic is the most atrocious thing a person can do. His name was Tom Marvolo Riddle.
I believe it all started when he realized that he has special abilities to move thing with his mind, to manipulate animals and creatures as he wished, speak parseltongue (snake language), and uses his power to inflict harm on other people. Since young age he hated his own name, which he regards as 'normal', and always wanted to be someone special, out of ordinary, hence the name Lord Voldemort.
Ever since he joined the magic school (Hogwarts) he was introduced to so many wonderful things magic can do, and meet a lot of wizards and witch, in which is a combined population of pureblood (both magician parents), mudblood (both muggle parents) and halfblood (magician + muggle). Contrary to his origin, he despises all halfblood and mudblood too, saying that a combination of magic blood and muggle blood is an abomination. That was when he decided to diminish all of the non-pureblood generations in the magic world.
And this is where the Order of the Pheonix was formed, because they were the only ones brave enough to fight Lord Voldemort and his army. Obviously, the old alliance was defeated considering Voldemort and his army uses the unforgivable curses (killing curse, cruciatus curse, and imperius curse), until the night when Voldemort himself went to Godric's Hollow where the Potter resides.
Now let's rewind a little bit to the young years of Tom Riddle. He might not be as clever as Hermione Granger, but he spent time in the library often enough, in the restriction section. That was when he found an immortality curse known as Hocruxes. Over the years he had planned carefully where he would make these hocruxes and intended to only make six, seventh being himself, a living hocrux.Placing these hocruxes safe separately and unknown by people, makes him immortal.
Until that night in Godric's Hollow when he wanted to kill Harry Potter, the spell rebounded (because he was protected by an old charm made by his mother, Lily Potter) and actually killed himself. And because that happened, the hocrux conceal in the only living thing it could find, being Harry Potter.
Alas Lord Voldemort is not completely dead, because of those hocruxes he manage to plant. All these books actually tell a story of how he wanted to be whole again, and must kill Harry Potter to regain the living hocrux and transfer it to himself, for him to be immortal. But the story goes otherwise, the happy ending.
See, that wasn't so hard, was it?
Enjoy harry potter-ing!
